Mohammed El Mohajir is European Master in Environmental
System Modelling from University of Liège (1992) and Doctor of Science from
the University Catholic of Louvain (Belgium) (1997). He joined Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdelah University in 2004. He is Professor at the
department of computer sciences at the Faculty of
Science Dhar Mahraz.
He lectures Information Systems Design and implementation, Data warehouses for
decision-support, Software Engineering and Project management, for both
undergraduate and master levels.
He was a research assistant
at the UCL from 1992 to 1997 and then Doctor Research Associate from 1997 to
1998. He then moved to the United Kingdom to hold a Senior Research Associate
position at the School of Mathematics at the
University of East Anglia in Norwich. In 2001, he joined the Information Technology department at
a multinational Telecommunication Company based in Brussels as a Software
Systems Engineer and IT Project manager. He has been involved in many European
and international projects with the UCL (Belgium), CERFACS (France), Metéo
France (France), LMD (France), KNMI (Netherlands), NCAR (USA), Met. Office and
Hadley Centre (UK). He is a member of many scientific associations and
societies and serves on many national and international scientific and
organizing committees. He is co-editor of one special issue of an international
journal and co-author of about 30 papers that have appeared in referred
symposia, magazines and journals. He is since 2007 the newsletter editor and
vice-chair of the IEEE Morocco Section, Chairman and Student Branch Counselor
of the Fez IEEE local office. He is the co-founder of a research group on
Modeling and Information Systems Engineering in the Faculty of sciences in Fez.
His main research is about conceptual modeling, design and development of
decision-support Information Systems, ETL processes for datawarehouses and
SOLAP, Distributed and Parallel Processing Systems and semantic web.
