Information and multimedia processing

An invited session on "Information and Multimedia Processing" will be held on 24rd of October 2012, within the IEEE CIST'2012 colloquium.

Information processing techniques are an important ingredient of modern multimedia systems. The study profile provides knowledge in hardware and software components for processing, storage, coding, transfer, and analysis of various types of multimedia information (signals, images, video and data (text or script)). Information processing has applications in communication networks, mobile ubiquitous systems, man-machine interaction, multimedia, medical informatics, security systems, biometrics, bioinformatics, and other areas of modern information society.

The main objective of the session is to bring together researchers interested in the area of the Information and Multimedia Processing to exchange the latest advances achieved by researchers and to foster the discussion of the future of this research area.

The invited session will also include a lecture by an invited keynote speaker.
