Biography:

Mike Hinchey is Professor of Software Engineering at University of Limerick, Ireland. Prior to joining Lero, Professor Hinchey was Director of the NASA Software Engineering Laboratory; he continues to serve as a NASA Expert. In 2009 he was awarded NASA's Kerley Award as Innovator of the Year. Hinchey holds a B.Sc. in Computer Systems from University of Limerick, an M.Sc. in Computation from University of Oxford and a PhD in Computer Science from University of Cambridge.

The author/editor of more than 15 books and over 200 articles on various aspects of Software Engineering, at various times Hinchey previously hel​​d positions as Full Professor in Australia, UK, Sweden and USA. He is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Engineering Professional, Chartered Mathematician and Charted Information Technology Professional, as well as a Fellow of the IET, British Computer Society and Irish Computer Society. He is President of IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing) and Vice-Chair (and Chair-Elect) of IEEE​ UK & Ireland section. He is also Editor-in-Chief of Innovations in Systems and Software Engineering: a NASA Journal and Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society.

Shui Yu

Biography:

Shui Yu is a Professor of School of Computer Science, University of Technology Sydney, Australia. Dr Yu’s research interest includes Big Data, Security and Privacy, Networking, and Mathematical Modelling. He has published four monographs and edited two books, more than 400 technical papers, including top journals and top conferences, such as IEEE TPDS, TC, TIFS, TMC, TKDE, TETC, ToN, and INFOCOM. His h-index is 61.

Dr Yu initiated the research field of networking for big data in 2013, and his research outputs have been widely adopted by industrial systems, such as Amazon cloud security. He is currently serving a number of prestigious editorial boards, including IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials (Area Editor), IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, and so on. He served as a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Communications Society (2018-2021). He is a Distinguished Visitor of IEEE Computer Society, a voting member of IEEE ComSoc Educational Services board, and an elected member of Board of Governor of IEEE Vehicular Technology Society.

Biography:

Mohsen Guizani (Fellow, IEEE) received the BS (with distinction), MS and PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, USA in 1985, 1987 and 1990, respectively. He is currently a Professor of Machine Learning at the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), Abu Dhabi, UAE. Previously, he worked in different institutions in the USA.

His research interests include applied machine learning and artificial intelligence, smart city, Internet of Things (IoT), intelligent autonomous systems, and cybersecurity. He became an IEEE Fellow in 2009 and was listed as a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher in Computer Science in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Dr. Guizani has won several research awards including the “2015 IEEE Communications Society Best Survey Paper Award”, the Best ComSoc Journal Paper Award in 2021 as well 5 Best Paper Awards from ICC and Globecom Conferences. He is the author of 11 books, more than 1000 publications and several US patents.

He is also the recipient of the 2017 IEEE Communications Society Wireless Technical Committee (WTC) Recognition Award, the 2018 AdHoc Technical Committee Recognition Award, and the 2019 IEEE Communications and Information Security Technical Recognition (CISTC) Award. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Network and is currently serving on the Editorial Boards of many IEEE Transactions and Magazines. He was the Chair of the IEEE Communications Society Wireless Technical Committee and the Chair of the TAOS Technical Committee. He served as the IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Speaker and is currently the IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer.
